For whatever reason, there seems to be have a large number of incorporated candy makers from Massachusetts in the early part of the 20th century. Most of the certificates here are from companies that were household names at the time, but for the most part have passed into anonymity. Most of the certificates are boring and unimaginative, which may provide a clue as to why these companies could not compete with the national names that began to dominate the industry in the 30's.
