American Bobbin, Spool and Shuttle Company. Organized in Portland on Jan. 15, 1891 through the consolidation of a number of smaller companies. Factories were located though out Maine, Massachusetts (Lowell, New Bedford), Vermont (Burlington), New Hampshire (Nashua) and Rhode Island (Pawtucket). The owners claimed to control almost the entire spool and shuttle market before going into receivership in 1892.
Stock. Issued in 1891. Maine. #169. Signed by George Munroe Endicott as President and William A. French as Treasurer. Great vignette of industrial weaving tools.
