South Boston Railroad Company. Founded in 1854, this company ran horse drawn trolleys through the streets on South Boston. In the Spring of 1887 there was a month long strike by workers. In the fall of that same year the railroad was acquired by the West End Street Railway, along with the Metropolitan Railroad, Boston Consolidated Street Railway and a few days later, the Cambridge Railroad.
