Boston and Philadelphia Steamship Company. Phineas Sprague & Co. along with Sprague, Soule & Co established steamboat service from Boston to Philidelphia in 1852. The company incorporated in 1872 under the name Boston and Philadelphia Steamship Company. Service to Providence was added at that time and a line to Fall River was added in 1882. The company President from 1852 till his death in 1889 was Henry Winsor, a native of Duxbury Massachusetts and well know Philidelphia Businessman.
