Essex Steam Mills.   Original named the "The Newburyport Steam Cotton Company", this mill produced cotton cloth. It was built 1835 and renamed to "Essex Steam Mills" in 1844. It was located at the foot of Strong Street in Newburyport. The mill was destroyed by a fire in March of 1856.
